Walker Registration/Check-In (Babson College)
Register new participants, check-in pre-registered walkers, collect submitted donations, and distribute T-shirts and bib numbers.

Walker Registration/Check-In (All start locations)
Register new participants, check-in pre-registered walkers, collect submitted donations, and distribute T-shirts and bib numbers.

Food and Beverage Distribution (Start locations and Finish)
Prepare and serve walkers a variety of food and beverages at the start locations and finish lines.

Course Monitor (Parking/ Directional All Locations)
Direct and encourage walkers along the course, reminding them to be careful and walk in a safe manner. AT NO TIME WILL VOLUNTEERS BE DIRECTING VEHICULAR TRAFFIC. At the Finish Line, direct walkers to food, beverages, and activities.

Site Monitor (Start locations and Finish)
Assist in making sure that things run smoothly at our start locations and finish. Responsibilities will include assisting Site Captains with set-up and breakdown of the locations, and site monitors may also be called upon as 'gophers' to help out in various roles.

Bus Greeting/Loading (Start locations and Finish)
Transportation to the starting location areas is provided to walkers. Volunteers will help to direct walkers to the appropriate buses or greet them when they arrive.

Medal Distribution (Copley Finish Line)
Volunteers will place commemorative Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk medallions around walkers necks at the Finish Line and direct walkers towards the food, beverages, and other activities.

Green Team (All Locations)
Help us keep the course clean and green! We need eager volunteers to help us along the route and at our start locations and Finish Line. Shifts will vary depending on your location.

Ham Radio Operators (All Locations)
Ham Radio operators will be positioned at each starting location, each refueling station, the finish line, and on each bus to help with logistic and emergency communications. Volunteers will operate ham radios to support communication for the Red Cross First Aid Stations. No experience necessary, though volunteers must have a Technician license and their own 2 Meter Hand Held radio. Massage Team (Finish Locations)
Massage tents will be set up at the Copley Square Finish Line for all walkers interested in massages. Volunteer massage therapists are needed and should bring their personal massage tables and equipment. Licensed professionals only. Credentials are required. Medical Team (Copley Finish Location)
The medical team provides immediate support to walkers in medical tents stationed at the finish locations. Comprised primarily of physicians, podiatrists, and nurses, the medical team treats walkers' injuries, mainly blisters and dehydration. Any walker who requires more than first aid treatment will be transported via ambulance to a local hospital. Licensed professionals only. Credentials are required. Refueling Stations (12 Locations)
Walkers look forward to refueling stations, where they replenish with food and beverages, and receive motivation to make it to the finish line. Volunteers set-up, break down, and clean-up the station; set-up, distribute, and replenish food and beverages; place a colored sticker on the bib number of each walker, indicating they have passed that particular station; smile, cheer, and spread lots of enthusiasm!
