Featured Walker
Kathy's Krew
"Kathy's Krew walks to honor Kathy Nash, beloved wife, mom, sister, daughter and friend, and to celebrate a life full of love, laughter and tremendous courage and strength. We walk to raise funds for discovery and delivery of treatments for lung cancer patients and their families."
Walk Pacesetter
Ellen Eisner, Four-Star Pacesetter
"I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2016 and I walk as a real-life example of what happens when research is funded and new treatment options become available. Doing the walk is one small way my husband and I can give back."
Walk Team
Sharon do more for 4
"Last year was our first year walking in the Jimmy Fund Walk. I was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer in 2015 and made it my mission to do all I could to make a difference in the fight against cancer. So many of our team have been touched in some way by cancer and want to be part of the same mission...a world without cancer."
Corporate Walk Team
OMAM
"OMAM is participating in this year's walk because the Jimmy fund is a great local organization and supporting Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund fits well within the mission of our charitable foundation. Forming a corporate walk team presented itself as a unique volunteer opportunity that would attract people across various departments within our organization to join together to help fight a disease that has affected most people, either as patients or caregivers."
Virtual Walkers
Kim Salley, Team Bucky Rogers
"Because of our little Jimmy's arrival, Team Bucky Rogers was not able to physically participate. Our team has always vowed to raise awareness and monetary support for the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber, so we continued the tradition as virtual walk participants so that our Jimmy, current Jimmys, and future Jimmys can see a world without cancer!"
Dana-Farber Employees
Research Administrollers
"We are a group of admin who work to provide researchers across the Institute with a support structure to allow them to pursue cutting-edge research. Participating in the BMJFW reinforces our commitment to doing all we can behind the scenes in the search for a cure."
Third Party Walk Event
Team G.I.
"The BMJFW is a fun way for our department and supporters to come together to show appreciation for all the care and research that the GI Department provides. In the spirit of having fun we decided that an Opportunity Drawing would be a great way to help team members reach their fundraising goals."
Walk Patient
Christina Smith
"I walk to help the Jimmy Fund continue providing the outstanding, inspiring care that I received as a patient at Dana-Farber. In the midst of pain and suffering, the Jimmy Fund/Dana-Farber community is a light that burns bright!"
Walk Heroes
Team Lynch Syndrome, Star Pacesetter Team
Team Lynch Syndrome is comprised of Lynch syndrome cancer survivors, "previvors," supporters, genetic counselors, nurses, physicians, and scientists, all coming together in the Jimmy Fund Walk to support Lynch Syndrome research and patient advocacy.
Walk Volunteer
Janel and Stephen
"Volunteering for the Jimmy Fund Walk has become a part of our lives and we are especially moved by the children, adults and families that walk with us to raise money for such a worthwhile cause! It is always touching to wave to those in the hospital who cannot join us as we begin our 3 miles to Boston; little do they know that they are with us in spirit as we cross the finish line!"
