|Gina & Jim and Christina, Tara, Linda and Gina during "Evening of Hope" at Granite Links|
|I will participate in the 2017 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk on Sunday Sept. 24th presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!|
2017 is a year Cancer has affected me like never before. Last year, my friend and neighbor Steve Staffiere lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer at age 53. I will walk with his daughter, son and loving wife.
My wife Gina became very ill and was diagnosed with Cancer days before the Patriots 5th Super Bowl victory. Since then several more friends have also been diagnosed. We don’t know why. But every 18 seconds someone in this country is diagnosed. I am walking in support of my wife Gina too.
In June, Team Tara invited Gina and our family to the “Evening of Hope”. We met people like us with great hope for the future. As a caregiver, We do a lot to support the patient, family, friends and of course the medical team. We want to take a walk and maybe need to. So walking with Jimmy Fund supporters who understand the battle is a good thing. To be surrounded by strength, hope, and support.
I will proudly walk for the memory of Steve Staffiere, and in honor and support of my wife Gina. I will also walk in honor and support of Mike, Mary Jeanne, Ariana, Linda, Dan, Tara (founder and co-leader of Team Tara), and in memory of my Mom Grace, Father in law Gino, Jeanette, Enrico, Andrea, Carrie and many others.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
God Bless you and your loved ones,
