There's a lot more work to do.......

On September 24th, I will be participating in the 2017 Jimmy Fund Walk to support Dana Farber, all in the name of that beautiful woman above. Darby Stott has been such an inspiration to me and to so many others, and while she is no longer with us physically, her spirit lives on and is still so strong. As she left this world, her dream was that her amazing doctor, Eric Winer, and other researchers would develop successful treatments for metastatic breast cancer so that other women would not have to face her fate. That dream also lives on.

This past year, Team Darby was honored by Dana Farber for becoming one of fewer than 30 teams in the history of the Jimmy Fund Walk for eclipsing the $500,000 fundraising mark. That is an amazing tribute to Darby and her dream, but the dream still has not been realized. I invite you (urge you) to join Team Darby on September 24th to raise money to support this vital research -- every dollar raised by the team goes to support Dr. Winer's efforts to find a cure for metastatic breast cancer. If you are not able to participate in the Walk, I ask you to consider supporting Team Darby's efforts with a donation.

While we walk and raise funds in Darby's memory and to further her dream, the reality is that we all owe this to our wives and our daughters, our sisters and our mothers. Every time I hear about another friend learning they or a loved one will be battling this awful disease, I realize how much work there still is to do. Cancer sucks, and it needs to be put in its place.

Thank you for your support for Darby's Idiots (the name she gave us in 2014 when she learned we were walking the entire 26.2 miles). I can assure you -- it makes the feet hurt, but it makes the heart feel so good.
