|Conquer cancer with the Jimmy Fund Walk!|
|We are walking for the 4th year to celebrate and honor the life of Kathy Nash, beloved wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend who recently lost her battle with Lung Cancer. Kathy lived life to the fullest, and positively impacted and inspired everyone who was blessed to have known her. She received world-class compassionate care at The Dana Farber Cancer Institute, in Boston MA, where she benefited from 4 separate clinical trial drugs that extended and improved the quality of her life.|
We walk to celebrate and honor my brother Pat's wife Amy, who also passed away from Lung Cancer. We walk to support Pat and Amy's kids, Betsy and AJ, as well as their extended families. We love you and miss you Amy!
And We walk to raise much needed funds to continue DFCI's mission to provide expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer while advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases. More progress has been made in the past 4 years in cancer treatment than in the prior 40 years combined. Kathy is proof that Cancer Research $'s raised are making a real and significant impact... now more than ever. But more funds are needed.
Lung cancer is the biggest killer, yet one of the most underfunded types of cancers, due in part, to the stigma that lung cancer is a "smoker's disease." The fact is, anybody with lungs can get lung cancer, and NO ONE "deserves" cancer of any kind. Kathy was very passionate about improving lung cancer awareness to eliminate this stigma and misconception, in order to make way for increased funding.
Please consider joining Team Kathy's Krew, and/or donating to our fund raising efforts. As an official team member, you will have the opportunity to do you own fund raising and team member recruiting. We welcome and encourage all team members to join us in the actual walk on Sept.
24th, 2017, which has been an emotional, but inspirational and uplifting day for our family.
Thank you for your support.
